LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, is a public alternative high school in New York City, USA. The school, informally known as "PA", was established in 1947 and first occupied its own building the following year.
High School of Performing Arts In June 1984 the last graduating class from the "old building" departed. In September of that year, students moved to the Music & Art site and the two "sister schools" were finally united in one building. Performing Arts High School had finally vacated its old building, joining students from The High School of Music & Art, and become one single entity.

High-performance teams Using Tuckman's stages of group development as a basis, a HPT moves through the stages of forming, storming, norming and performing, as with other teams. However, the HPT uses the storming and norming phase effectively to define who they are and what their overall goal is, and how to interact together and resolve conflicts. Therefore, when the HPT reaches the performing phase, they have highly effective behaviours that allow them to overachieve in comparison to regular teams. Later, leadership strategies (coordinating, coaching, empowering, and supporting) were connected to each stage to help facilitate teams to high performance.

High School of Performing Arts PA continued to audition, educate and graduate hundreds of students during these decades of uncertainty. Ground was broken for a new building at the Lincoln Center in 1973, but New York City's budget crisis caused all work to stop. Construction resumed in the early 1980s. Finally, in September 1984, the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts welcomed students from both schools into their new building.

Elyria High School In 2007, Elyria passed Issue 7 allowing for a new high school to be built. All but the Washington building were demolished. AlWood High School Alpha High School opened in the late 19th century. The official name of the Alpha High School athletic teams was the Bulldogs. However, the Alpha teams were sometimes referred to as the "Miners" because of the coal mines which once existed around the area. The Alpha High School building is used as the elementary school for the Alwood school district. Woodhul High School also opened in the late 19th century. The mascot of Woodhull High School was the Cardinals. The original school building was used as the AlWood Middle School and sat adjacent to the current Alwood High School building until it was demolished in 2001.
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School for International Careers The building now occupied by the school was formerly the location of Performing Arts High School, the school on which the 1980 film "Fame" was based. In winter 1988, the vacant building caught fire during renovation. Its facade and several exterior walls survived; the interior needed complete reconstruction. Performing Arts High School moved to LaGuardia High School, and the 46th Street building reopened in 1995 as the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School.

This building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architecture in 1986. After serving for many years as a junior high school, it was converted into residential units.
