Biostatistics in Public Health Specialization Biostatistics in Public Health will introduce students to the methods used to assess the quality of health care in the United States, with a focus on the measurement of quality measures and quality improvement activities. The course also focuses on the differential diagnosis and treatment of anomalous behavior. Anomalies are defined as deviations from normal that are not explained by physical or mental abnormalities. The differential diagnosis of anomalous behavior is discussed in the context of theories of anomalous behavior, including theories of autism, schizophrenia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The differential diagnosis is also discussed with respect to treatments for anomalous behavior, including psychotherapy and/or behavioral surgery. The course also includes discussion of the importance of genetics for the development and treatment of anomalous behavior.
